Natives of the unfashionable western suburbs of Sydney and featuring at one time former NRL and Australian first grade rugby league player Eric Grother in their ranks, the Lime Spiders put their own slant on rare sixties punk in the early eighties by adding the hi-energy kicks of the post-Radio Birdman Sydney scene as well as the pub-rock sound of late seventies Australia producing a string of oft-taked about killer singles: Can’t Wait Long, Slave Girl, Out Of Control and the under-rated Who-like Jessica (see below). Surfacing occasionally in recent years, Lime Spiders 2013 features Out Of Control era-members Mick Blood, Ged Corben and Tony Bambach alongside guitarist Dave Sparks and new drummer Tom Corben.
